PBS American Masters
I had the opportunity to work as an Animation Assistant on Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire, an enthralling documentary by filmmaker Oren Rudavsky for PBS American Masters. This film delves into the life and legacy of Elie Wiesel. A Holocaust survivor and Nobel Laureate, Wiesel transformed his trauma into some of the most profound literature of the 20th century, shaping global remembrance of the Holocaust.
The film offers an intimate and deeply philosophical exploration of Wiesel’s life, enriched by access to his personal archives. As an Animation Assistant, I contributed to bringing his story to life visually, helping to craft sequences with glass painting animation that complement the film’s moving narrative. This project was a meaningful opportunity to blend historical storytelling with animation, adding depth to the portrayal of a man whose words and experiences continue to resonate across generations.
